The project focuses on upgrading older infrastructure by installing new high-capacity underground cables, replacing distribution transformers, and strengthening switching and protection systems throughout key zones of Addu City.

The scope of work includes trenching and cable laying along main and secondary roads, cable jointing and termination works, installation of supporting electrical components, and final reinstatement of road surfaces to their original condition. All construction and installation activities are being carried out in compliance with utility standards, approved methodology, environmental considerations, and strict safety protocols to ensure minimal disturbance to public movement and services.

Through these upgrades, the electrical grid will be better equipped to handle increasing demand from residential, commercial, and tourism sectors.
