Ahmed Akhubar is a seasoned professional with a distinguished career spanning engineering, project management, and public service. With a solid foundation in technical expertise and leadership, he has overseen and delivered numerous large-scale projects, balancing innovation with practical solutions. His experience in both public and private sectors gives him deep insight into governance, policy, and infrastructure development. Ahmed is also a shareholder of Heavy Work Maldives Pvt. Ltd., reflecting his entrepreneurial drive and commitment to the Maldivian private sector.

Ali Shaniz Mohamed Director, Business Development
Ali Shaniz Mohamed is the Director of Business Development at Maldives Construction & Engineering Corporation (MCEC) and the Founder of Saturn Maldives and a Shareholder of Heavy Work Maldives and Managing Director of High Work Maldives Pvt Ltd.
With decades of experience in the construction and infrastructure sector, he has led and contributed to numerous major projects across the Maldives. He holds a Master’s Degree in Law, strengthening his expertise in contract management, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
Combining construction expertise, legal knowledge, and strategic business leadership, he continues to play a significant role in driving infrastructure development and business growth in the Maldives.
Songmit is the Financial Controller at MCEC, where she provides strategic financial leadership and supports the company’s long-term business objectives. With a strong background spanning finance, sales and marketing, and business development, she brings a well-rounded commercial perspective to the organization. Songmit works closely with senior management to strengthen financial governance, support informed decision-making, and align financial strategy with operational growth. Her cross-functional experience and leadership mindset contribute significantly to MCEC’s continued stability and expansion.
Songmit Lepcha Manager, Accounts & Finance
Mohamed Nadeem graduated with a BBA from the University of Madras. Starting his career in sales with Sharp, he joined UMET in 2009, bringing strong skills in human resource management and administration. Known for his persuasive skills, enthusiasm, and insight into market dynamics, Nadeem plays a key role in building and managing MCEC’s human capital and organizational culture.
